Seamless Connectivity
The R2-W8D4 features Dual 4-Ohm Voice Coils, making it the perfect choice for systems where you want to wire a single sub to a 2-ohm load or a pair of subs to a 1-ohm or 4-ohm load. It includes Alpine’s convenient configuration jumpers, allowing you to change impedance easily at the terminals without complex wiring. The push-type terminals support heavy-gauge wire up to 8AWG for maximum signal transfer.
Safety & Convenience
To shield the high-excursion cone from damage, this subwoofer is equipped with the "EZ-Change" twist-lock grille mount system. This allows you to securely attach the optional KTE-8G grille without the need for additional mounting screws. The unit comes with a cosmetic trim ring that covers the mounting hardware, giving your enclosure a clean, finished appearance.
Enhanced Audio & Ambiance
This subwoofer is built with a Kevlar-reinforced pulp cone and a new polypropylene/ceramic composite dust cap. This combination provides the rigidity needed for intense bass while offering internal damping to absorb unwanted vibrations. You can fine-tune the output by choosing the right box: use a 0.3 cu. ft. sealed enclosure for tight, punchy detail, or a 0.73 cu. ft. ported enclosure for maximum low-end roar.

Those guys are really professional! I had a new Alpine floating head unit installed in my 2008 Mercedes, and it feels like a brand-new car. The installation was super clean. At first, the sound wasn’t the same as the factory stereo, but Kevin tuned it to be just as good—if not better—without adding any new amps. They even used my factory GPS antenna so I don’t have extra wires hanging out. On top of that, they matched the online price. Big thanks to Kevin and Eddie—highly recommended!
Kevin was awesome, he took his time and explained everything to me. I went in initially for a dash cam install and then decided to get a sub and amp installed as well. Both turned out great and will be returning if I need more work done.
Came In not knowing what to expect when suddenly my stereo stopped working. Spoke with Kevin in the front and after a VERY fast diagnosing they discovered my wiring was incorrect. Highly recommend Kevin and the team at San Diego Car Stereo for any issues with aftermarket stereos. I bought a car with an aftermarket stereo and AC unit that wasn’t working properly—specifically, the heat wasn’t functioning due to an improper setup.
