Product Overview:
The Alpine S2-SB8 is a compact 8-inch preloaded subwoofer enclosure that introduces the PrismaLink™ system, blending high-performance bass with customizable RGBW lighting. Despite its smaller size, this sealed wedge enclosure is engineered to deliver punchy and accurate low-end response, making it an excellent solution for vehicles where space is at a premium.

Integrated RGBW Lighting
The S2-SB8 stands out with its built-in RGBW lighting bars integrated into the enclosure trim. You can choose from 12 static colors and 4 dynamic modes using the included IR remote. For advanced control, the lighting can be managed directly through the touchscreen of an Alpine iLX-W670 receiver (sold separately), allowing you to sync your audio and visual ambiance.
PrismaLink™ Multi-Link Capability
Designed for expandability, the S2-SB8 is multi-link capable. Using the optional KTX-LK8 linking bracket, you can physically connect two or more 8-inch enclosures together. This creates a unified, high-output subwoofer system with synchronized lighting that looks as professional as it sounds.
Next-Gen S-Series Performance
Inside the enclosure is the S2-W8D4 subwoofer, which features a carbon fiber and polypropylene blend cone. This material is both lightweight and rigid, allowing for high output with minimal distortion. Combined with Alpine’s High-Amplitude Multi-Roll (HAMR) surround, the driver achieves 13mm of linear excursion, providing an enhanced "punch" that is rare for an 8-inch driver.
Rugged and Versatile Design
The cabinet is constructed from 3/4" MDF and wrapped in premium black carpet to withstand the rigors of vehicle life. Its sealed wedge shape is optimized for tight, accurate bass reproduction and fits easily behind or under seats. The dual 4-ohm voice coils are pre-wired in parallel to a single terminal cup, presenting a 2-ohm final load for easy connection to your amplifier.

Those guys are really professional! I had a new Alpine floating head unit installed in my 2008 Mercedes, and it feels like a brand-new car. The installation was super clean. At first, the sound wasn’t the same as the factory stereo, but Kevin tuned it to be just as good—if not better—without adding any new amps. They even used my factory GPS antenna so I don’t have extra wires hanging out. On top of that, they matched the online price. Big thanks to Kevin and Eddie—highly recommended!
Kevin was awesome, he took his time and explained everything to me. I went in initially for a dash cam install and then decided to get a sub and amp installed as well. Both turned out great and will be returning if I need more work done.

Highly recommend Kevin and the team at San Diego Car Stereo for any issues with aftermarket stereos. I bought a car with an aftermarket stereo and AC unit that wasn’t working properly—specifically, the heat wasn’t functioning due to an improper setup. I had several people look at it with no luck, and even the dealership basically refused to help because it was an aftermarket install.
