Hertz C 165 L

Hertz C 165 L | Cento Series 6.5" High-Excursion Woofer

The Hertz C 165 L is a specialized 165 mm (6.5") woofer designed for listeners who crave a warmer, more natural sound with superior low-end extension. While other speakers in the Cento line focus on general efficiency, the "L" (Loud/Low) version prioritizes a deeper frequency response by utilizing non-pressed paper—a material chosen specifically for its ability to deliver solid, controlled bass even during the most demanding musical passages.

Product Highlights

Non-Pressed Paper Cone (NPP): The use of water-repellent non-pressed paper gives the C 165 L a distinct acoustic signature. This organic material provides a more natural timbre and a smoother transition into the mid-frequencies compared to synthetic cones.

High-Excursion Design: Engineered for movement, the magnetic group has been enhanced to allow for a wider stroke. This specific wide-stroke voice coil allows the woofer to maintain utmost control at high excursion levels, providing a powerful, distortion-free "punch."

Optimized Motor Assembly: Driven by a high-density flux ferrite magnet and low-carbon polar plates, the motor assembly is built to handle significant power while maintaining the thermal stability required for consistent performance.

NRT (No Resistance Technology): The aerodynamic geometry of the basket and the high-damping materials used in the surround minimize air resistance and mechanical noise, ensuring that every watt of power is converted into pure, clean sound.

Key Features

Superior Low-End Extension: With a frequency response dipping down to 50 Hz, these woofers provide a fuller sound stage that can often reduce the immediate need for a subwoofer in smaller vehicle cabins.

Durable Construction: The woofer basket is protected by a resistant coating, and the cone is treated to be water-repellent, making it ideal for the harsh, damp environments typically found inside car doors.

High Power Handling: Rated at 80 Watts RMS, the C 165 L is robust enough to take full advantage of high-quality aftermarket amplifiers, though it remains efficient enough to improve the performance of premium factory systems.

Linear Performance: The combination of the specialized cone and a 25 mm (1") voice coil ensures that the speaker remains linear and predictable across its entire frequency range, preventing the "muddy" sound often associated with basic factory woofers.
