The Infinity Reference REF607CF is a highly efficient 6.5" component speaker system designed to deliver a significant audio upgrade over factory systems. Part of the popular Reference series, these speakers are engineered for smooth highs and punchy mid-bass, and they are particularly well-suited for vehicles being powered directly by a factory head unit or a modest aftermarket amplifier.
Key Features
Patented Plus One™ Woofer Technology
The REF607CF features polypropylene woofer cones with Infinity's Plus One™ architecture. By extending the cone area further toward the basket, these speakers provide more surface area than standard 6.5" cones. This results in higher sensitivity, better midrange performance, and more robust mid-bass output.
Edge-Driven Textile Tweeters
Unlike standard dome tweeters, these 3/4" textile tweeters are edge-driven, which allows them to handle more power and provide a smoother, more natural high-frequency response. This design helps reduce "listening fatigue," making them ideal for long drives where you want crisp detail without harshness.
Adjustable Tweeter Control
The external crossovers include a tweeter level adjustment switch (0dB or +3dB). This is a critical feature for custom installations, allowing you to boost the high frequencies if your tweeters are mounted low in the door or behind thick factory grilles, ensuring a perfectly balanced soundstage.
True 4-Ohm Technology
While these speakers have a 3-ohm impedance, they are designed as "True 4-ohm" components. When combined with the resistance of your factory speaker wiring, they present a safe 4-ohm load to your receiver while still drawing slightly more power to maximize volume and clarity.
