The Infinity Reference REF697CF is a high-performance 6" x 9" component system designed to provide a "modern classic" upgrade for factory audio. This set includes two woofers, two separate tweeters, and two external crossovers. Engineered for high efficiency, these speakers deliver the signature Infinity sound—clear, detailed, and punchy—whether powered by a factory head unit or a dedicated aftermarket amplifier.

Plus One™ Woofer Architecture
The REF697CF utilizes patented Plus One™ polypropylene woofers. By extending the cone to the edge of the basket, Infinity provides more surface area than competing speakers in the same size class. This results in higher sensitivity and increased low-frequency output, giving your music significantly more "thump" and midrange presence.
Edge-Driven Textile Tweeters
Unlike standard balanced-dome tweeters, these 3/4" edge-driven textile dome tweeters are designed for smooth, non-fatiguing highs. This audiophile-grade construction ensures that even at high volumes, the high frequencies remain crisp without becoming harsh. The included Starfish™ mounting brackets simplify the process of installing these tweeters into factory locations.
Adjustable Tweeter Control
The external crossovers feature an adjustable tweeter output level (0 or +3 dB). This allows customers to fine-tune the "brightness" of their system based on the speaker's placement in the vehicle. If the tweeters are mounted low in the door, the +3 dB boost can help bring the soundstage up to ear level for better imaging.
True 4-Ohm Technology
These speakers feature a 3-ohm low-impedance design. This is intentionally engineered to compensate for the resistance of thin factory speaker wires. When combined with your vehicle's wiring, the amplifier sees a true 4-ohm load, safely extracting more power from your stereo for a louder, cleaner performance.

Those guys are really professional! I had a new Alpine floating head unit installed in my 2008 Mercedes, and it feels like a brand-new car. The installation was super clean. At first, the sound wasn’t the same as the factory stereo, but Kevin tuned it to be just as good—if not better—without adding any new amps. They even used my factory GPS antenna so I don’t have extra wires hanging out. On top of that, they matched the online price. Big thanks to Kevin and Eddie—highly recommended!
Kevin was awesome, he took his time and explained everything to me. I went in initially for a dash cam install and then decided to get a sub and amp installed as well. Both turned out great and will be returning if I need more work done.

Highly recommend Kevin and the team at San Diego Car Stereo for any issues with aftermarket stereos. I bought a car with an aftermarket stereo and AC unit that wasn’t working properly—specifically, the heat wasn’t functioning due to an improper setup. I had several people look at it with no luck, and even the dealership basically refused to help because it was an aftermarket install.
