The JL Audio MV800/8i is a reference-grade 8-channel marine amplifier designed for boat owners who demand both power and precision. Part of the MVi series, it features integrated Digital Signal Processing (DSP) and JL Audio’s second-generation NexD2™ technology. Integrated Digital Signal Processing (DSP)
The standout feature of the MV800/8i is its built-in, full-featured DSP. Using the TüN™ software (available for PC, Mac, and mobile), you can optimize every aspect of your sound system. This includes time alignment with 0.02 ms precision, a 10-band parametric EQ per channel, and fully adjustable high-, low-, and bandpass filters with slopes up to 48 dB/octave.
2nd-Gen NexD2™ Switching Technology
Outfitted with NexD2™ technology, this amplifier achieves world-class sound quality with minimal distortion. The DSP-synchronized power supply and output stages use DirectFET™ outputs to maximize efficiency and reduce electrical noise. This ensures the amplifier stays cool and delivers clean power, even during long days on the water.
Versatile Output & Bridging
This 8-channel powerhouse is incredibly flexible. It delivers 75W RMS x 8 at 4Ω or 100W RMS x 8 at 2Ω. For systems requiring more muscle, it can be bridged to provide 200W RMS x 4 at 4Ω, making it ideal for powering a mix of high-performance speakers and subwoofers. It also features four processed analog preamp outputs to send tuned signals to additional amplifiers.
Marine-Grade Durability
Built for the elements, the MV800/8i features a cast-alloy chassis with a marine-grade powder coat and corrosion-resistant hardware. It carries an IPX2 water-resistance rating when mounted vertically with connections facing downward. Its differential-balanced inputs are designed to reject noise from the vessel's electrical system, providing up to 16V of input sensitivity.

Those guys are really professional! I had a new Alpine floating head unit installed in my 2008 Mercedes, and it feels like a brand-new car. The installation was super clean. At first, the sound wasn’t the same as the factory stereo, but Kevin tuned it to be just as good—if not better—without adding any new amps. They even used my factory GPS antenna so I don’t have extra wires hanging out. On top of that, they matched the online price. Big thanks to Kevin and Eddie—highly recommended!
Kevin was awesome, he took his time and explained everything to me. I went in initially for a dash cam install and then decided to get a sub and amp installed as well. Both turned out great and will be returning if I need more work done.

Highly recommend Kevin and the team at San Diego Car Stereo for any issues with aftermarket stereos. I bought a car with an aftermarket stereo and AC unit that wasn’t working properly—specifically, the heat wasn’t functioning due to an improper setup. I had several people look at it with no luck, and even the dealership basically refused to help because it was an aftermarket install.
