The RD900/5+ is an all-in-one system amplifier engineered to power a complete car audio setup from a single compact chassis. It delivers 70 watts RMS x 4 channels for your speakers plus a dedicated 500-watt subwoofer channel (at 2 ohms), totaling 900 watts of clean, high-performance power. The "+" designation means this version adds onboard 3-way crossover capability, giving you more control over your system than the standard RD900/5.
Built on JL Audio's NexD™ switching technology, the RD900/5+ runs cool and efficient while pulling minimal current from your vehicle's electrical system. Each pair of main channels is fully bridgeable, producing 200 watts RMS into 4 ohms per bridged pair. This means you can run the amp in 5-channel mode for a full system, or switch to a powerful 3-channel configuration with 200W per pair to your front speakers and 500W to your sub.
The signal processing is where this amp really shines. Each channel section has its own 12 dB/octave crossover with continuously variable frequency selection from 50-500 Hz. The main channels get high-pass filters while the subwoofer channel gets a dedicated low-pass filter. With the 3-way crossover capability, you can run an active 3-way front stage without needing external processing. LED clipping indicators on each section make tuning fast and foolproof.

Bridgeable Main Channels — Each pair of main channels can be bridged to produce 200W RMS into 4 ohms, creating a powerful 3-channel amplifier configuration.
Differential-Balanced Inputs — Combats induced cable noise using standard RCA cables. Accepts both low-level RCA and high-level speaker signals from factory or aftermarket source units.
LED Clipping Indicators — Each channel section features LED indicators for quick, accurate gain setting without additional test equipment.
3 Turn-On Options — +12V remote wire, signal sensing, or DC offset detection for seamless integration with factory or aftermarket systems.
Selectable Input Configuration — 2, 4, or 6-channel input modes with selectable input type switches for maximum installation flexibility. Eliminates the need for Y-adapters when bridging.
Remote Subwoofer Control (Optional) — Compatible with the RBC-1 remote level control (sold separately) for convenient bass adjustment from the driver's seat.

Those guys are really professional! I had a new Alpine floating head unit installed in my 2008 Mercedes, and it feels like a brand-new car. The installation was super clean. At first, the sound wasn’t the same as the factory stereo, but Kevin tuned it to be just as good—if not better—without adding any new amps. Kevin was awesome, he took his time and explained everything to me. I went in initially for a dash cam install and then decided to get a sub and amp installed as well. Both turned out great and will be returning if I need more work done.

Highly recommend Kevin and the team at San Diego Car Stereo for any issues with aftermarket stereos. I bought a car with an aftermarket stereo and AC unit that wasn’t working properly—specifically, the heat wasn’t functioning due to an improper setup.
